
Nancy Kouvarakou was born in Athens in 1974. She has been playing music and writing songs
since she was a child.
She is a graduate of Lycée Léonin de Patissia, has a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the Panteion University of Athens, as well as a degree in Multimedia Programming. She has mainly worked as a translator of educational books (psychology, history, art) and as a certified yoga instructor.
She took private lessons in keyboards and guitar (1985-1989), piano lessons in the Music School "Attiko Odeio" (1988-1989), singing lessons at the Conservatory of Music "Athenaeum" (2005-2006) and Irish guitar lessons at the "Association irlandaise de Paris" (2012-2013).
In 1992 she was awarded the first prize for singers in the television programme "Η Σκυτάλη στην Τέχνη" on the Greek national channel ERT.
In September 2007, she became a member of the band "Trichimia", together with Francesca Vinassa (piano, guitar, percussion) and Maja Musi (clarinet). The group gave many performances in various music bars and live shows. In 2008, she collaborated with Nikoletta Anastasiou in the recording of the CD "Drom" (Label: Kathreftis).
In June 2009, Nancy Kouvarakou and Francesca Vinassa participated in the Athens Festival's performance "Caravan – Music of the Streets: Musicians of the World", and also in the 1st Street Theatre Festival of Athens, in October 2009, with their own music. In November 2009, while performing in Tübingen, Germany, they appeared on the TV programme "Diaspora" broadcast on Greek national channel ET3.
She lived 8 years in Paris, where from time to time she performed in various events and venues (among which "La Pomme d'Eve", "L'Entrepôt", "Le Kibélé", "AbracadaBar", "Ici-même").
